How this forum is setup

Post by Michael_AU » Sun Aug 07, 2016 10:59 pm

This forum is setup in 2 distinct ways.

1st the Old Testament (OT) is setup following the traditional Hebrew Tanakh pattern of Torah, Nevi'm, Ketuvim. There are a couple of slight modifications so non Hebrew Christians can work their way around and that is various books in the OT that are single books in the Tanakh (e.g. Samuel, Kings, Ezra, and Chronicles) have separate sub-forums with them, which is further explained below, that follow the Christian usage (i.e. 1 book becomes 2).

2nd the forum is setup in a nested (sub-forum) format. This means various sections are grouped together but each have their own sub-section. An example of this in the OT is the Torah (Five Books of Moses) is a section in its own right but each book has its own sub-section or sub-forum. In the New Testament (NT) examples of this are the Gospels, and the Epistles, each being a section within a category (the NT) but having sub-forums for each individual book.

The reason I have done this is to make the forum fit most screens on a desktop computer with minimal scrolling.

Some, not all, announcements are Global. This means they are listed in every forum section and sub-section. The Global announcements are the Statement of Faith, the Rules, and the Open Bible-& Derivative Works-License. These are Global so you the member understands exactly what is expected of you, what you post is free for others to use, how you interact in this community, and what may be done if you decide to work outside of basic Christian behaviour and netiquette.
